ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vikrant Singh Rathore is a contemporary visual artist working in the mediums of oil, watercolour and drawing. He lives and works from his studio in a small Himalayan village in Himachal.

Painting from an early age, Vikrant is a self taught artist. He quit his corporate job in 2009 to pursue art full time. He started out with abstract and modern, conceptual works and gradually moved to landscapes with oil and water colours as his main mediums. He travels to the landscapes and seascapes, works plein-air in the natural light, and then expands or reworks them at his studio in the mountains.

His artworks encompass impressionism, abstraction in nature, layered textures, rich colours, intense themes and have found spaces in homes around the world.
