Born in Bikaner (Rajasthan) and schooled from Bishop Cotton School,Shimla, I have been painting since early childhood. However, the journey from school till now took me through a lot of detours, only to realize that it was just art where my true passion lied. I went to Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and then worked in the corporate banking sector for 4 years(ABN Ambro, Bank of America). Working in the corporate world, only aggravated my discontent with my job, so far away from art and never having enough time to finish a painting. Finally, I took the leap of faith and decided that I could not stay away from my passion for art any longer. I resigned from my job and since then have been painting full time after a brief stint of studying at Delhi College of Art. Painting for me is the food for the soul and nature has been my biggest inspiration, practicing pleinair painting and traveling with my easel everywhere I want to capture the essence of the Indian landscapes. I have also attempted abstract /modern art with themes of the abstractions of the times today. Basing myself earlier in New Delhi, since 2014 I have been staying in the mountains of Manali, away from the hustle of city life and peacefully enjoy my interactions with the Himalayas. This has given me enough time and perseverance to follow this path all my life.
